Most of our borders have projecting, plastic forms and striking profiles. As in Art Nouveau originals, we cast clay into moulds; the production method differs fundamentally from that of our plain wall tiles.
As a result, there are minor dimensional differences between these tile types. To compensate for this, it is advisable to deliberately lay the tiles with a staggered joint. This traditional handling has further advantages: Joint grids are broken and recede in the perception, the horizontal structuring of a tiled wall is more strongly perceived.
Glaze gradients are particularly strong on the surfaces of borders and skirting tiles - an impression rich in contrast is created.

Mitre cuts and rails set on the edges of a room sometimes break up the overall appearance unpleasantly, while a full ceramic solution is a real eye-catcher. Our borders and base tiles can therefore be beautifully complemented by corner solutions.

The colour glazes shown here are selected as examples, on request we can produce our ceramics in almost any glaze variant of our wall tile programme. Excluded from this are borders with multi-coloured decoration, as the glazes have been specially developed and have been matched to one another on the basis of the historical originals.
